Kibera is a mass of humanity living in appalling conditions. Rubbish and raw sewage run down the lanes, families live in single mud rooms with leaky tin roofs, and crime and insecurity are rife.
A child grows up quickly in Kibera.
They learn to cope with hunger, boredom, injustice, sickness & death.
And yet, given the chance to be children, they are soon no different from kids the world over.
They love to play, to sing & dance, to learn & discover, to love.
Kibera cannot squash their spirit, only mask it.
Through its varied programmes, Turning Point gives children the opportunity to be children. Come with us and meet examples of some of the children we have the privilege to help.
